Quick StartHow to start fruiting your Philosophr grow bag

Step by Step Instructions

Follow these instructions for successful cultivation

1. Initial Inspection: Upon receiving the grow bag, carefully inspect it for any signs of damage or contamination. If everything looks good, proceed to the next step.

2. Opening the Bag: Remove the air-tight clip located at the top of the bag. Gently introduce fresh air into the bag by carefully inflating it, then reseal the bag using the clip. Place an elastic band around the outside of the bag at the height of the top of your substrate to reduce the chance of side pins.

3. Monitoring Growth: Keep a close eye on the bag as the mushrooms begin to grow. The first two flushes do not require watering. Once the caps start to open, it’s time to harvest. Note that not all varieties have veils or drop spores.

4. Harvesting: Before harvesting, ensure a clean environment by sanitizing your hands with alcohol and preferably wearing latex gloves. To harvest, twist the mushrooms off in a clockwise motion. Harvest as soon as the caps begin to open for optimal potency. Fruits are ready for harvest in two to four weeks, depending on the growing conditions and the mushroom variety.

5. Post-Harvest Maintenance: After harvesting the second flush, add a small amount of water (approximately 1/3rd up to the level of the substrate inside the bag). Reseal the bag using the clip, ensuring it is airtight. Don’t forget to add fresh air by removing and reattaching the clip. Pour out excess water if it has not been absorbed within twelve hours.

6. Temperature Control: Maintain a consistent temperature between 20-25 degrees Celsius (68-77°F) for optimal growth. Avoid extreme temperature fluctuations.

7. Subsequent Flushes: Expect at least two flushes from each bag, but it’s possible to get three or four. After each harvest, repeat the process of adding water and resealing the bag to encourage additional flushes.

8. Storage: If the grow bag is not used immediately, store it in the refrigerator between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius (36-46°F). This helps preserve the viability of the mycelium.

Note:

  • Adequate fresh air exchange is crucial for successful growth, so remember to reintroduce fresh air regularly.
  • Follow local laws and regulations regarding the cultivation and use of Psilocybe Cubensis.

Enjoy your cultivation journey, and may your harvest be bountiful!

Follow these instructions for successful cultivation

1. Storage: Upon receipt, store the liquid culture syringe in the refrigerator between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius (36-46°F) if not planning to use it immediately. Proper storage helps maintain the viability of the spores.

2. Preparation: Before use, allow the syringe to come to room temperature. Shake the syringe vigorously to ensure an even distribution of spores throughout the liquid culture.

3. Substrate Selection: Choose your preferred cultivation medium—either sterilized grains or all-in-one substrate grow bags. Ensure that your chosen medium is prepared and ready for inoculation.

4. Injection: Determine the appropriate volume for injection based on the size of your grow bag:

  • Small bags: 2 to 3 cc’s
  • Medium bags: 3 to 4 cc’s
  • Large bags: 4 to 5 cc’s

5. Inoculation: In a clean and sterile environment, inject the liquid culture into the chosen substrate. Aim for an even distribution to promote uniform growth.

6. Incubation: Place the inoculated substrate in a warm, dark environment suitable for mycelial growth. Growth should become visible within 1 to 2 weeks, with the slowest progress expected within a month.

7. Monitoring: Regularly check for signs of mycelial growth. Once the substrate is fully colonized, you can proceed to the next stage of your cultivation process.

8. Storage (if not all used): If not using the entire syringe, store the remaining liquid culture in the refrigerator between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius. Proper storage can extend the viability of the liquid culture for 2 to 6 months.

Note:

  • Ensure a clean and sterile environment during the entire inoculation process to prevent contamination.
  • Patience is key; mycelial growth rates may vary, but visible progress should be observed within the specified timeframe.
  • Follow local laws and regulations regarding the cultivation and use of Psilocybe Cubensis.

Enjoy your cultivation journey, and may your Psilocybe Cubensis thrive successfully!
